“Attraction Marketing: a great intro, or a fun refresher!”-Jenn Neal

A personal note from Jenn Neal on Attraction Marketing

You know that thing you do when you’re talking with someone and they mention something you don’t know what it means.

And you smile and nod like you do… making a mental note of “I’ve got to look that up later”

…Or maybe it’s just me…

I remember doing that in a conversation with Duff Gardner and he was talking about attraction marketing.

I hadn’t ever heard the term before, but as soon as he mentioned it my inner dialogue was like:

Wait, what is attraction marketing?

Well, if I was to guess it’s like inbound marketing or content marketing where we’re drawing the people to us.

After that conversation I went and did a little research.

“Attraction Marketing: a great intro, or a fun refresher!”
Attraction marketing is easier than you think. All you really need is someone like Jenn to guide you through what makes a successful blueprint. Even if you’re already familiar with the concept of attraction marketing, this episode will serve as a nice refresher to help you reexamine your tactics and keep your audience growing.

Mostly, I was right but I found some cool resources where other people were talking about attraction marketing and figured I better do an episode on it.

Because, I’m going to guess I wasn’t the only one not familiar with the term…

And, if you’re already in the know, it’s a fun refresher anyway.

Enjoy!

Attraction Marketing for Dummies: A Blueprint That Really Works

What Is Attraction Marketing Formula?
Attraction marketing breaks down into four different, equally important factors. You need all these factors working to be an attraction marketing pro.

1) Be Emotionally Available

Be authentic, and create emotional connections. I know, I talk about this one a lot. However, it is truly the most important ingredient in the whole recipe.
One of the best ways that we do that is through stories and storytelling. Go check out my other episodes on the importance of storytelling in marketing
We were completely authentic here today. I recorded the video for this in my home studio with the door shut to keep the dog out and it was getting pretty warm in there but I soldiered through the whole episode feeling pretty sweaty.

“Create an emotional connection.”
The most important thing to remember when creating your attraction marketing strategy is to make an emotional connection to the customer. They want to feel like you understand them and their pain points.

2) Highlight The Features And Benefits Of Your Product

This one may seem obvious, but there is some subtle artistry to master. You don’t want to just list off the benefits or advantages of your product. You want to paint a vivid picture of your product working to make your customer’s lives better.

“Forecast solutions.”
Customers need you to imagine for them how your product will solve their problems. Really help them envision what their lives will look like after they buy your product. Be specific about the pain points you are helping them to tackle and the stresses you are helping them alleviate.

3)Build The Vision Of How Your Product Helps

Build on the vision you created for the client by selling the destination, not the journey.
Focus on the prime pain point that your product will alleviate or eliminate for your customer.
You are creating a more solid belief that your product will make the customer’s life much better either because of the pain it will eliminate or the pleasure it will create. You can create and develop this belief through the use of stories, illustrations, case studies, or by being a product of the products.

“Sell the destination, not the journey.”
The process of addressing someone’s pain points can (and probably will) be messy. You don’t want your customer to focus on this journey and how long it will take. You want them to focus on the feeling they will have once your product has helped them get to where they want to be. It’s about transformation with the help of your product from pain to satisfaction.

4)Media Types Matter

Pay close attention to where your customers are physically at online. Will you reach them
best with blog posts, e-books brochures, emails, music, podcasts, video? The secret weapon here is prolific content so that the message has many different pathways to your customer’s ears.

By paying attention to what is it that your customer needs and how you can provide that for them and make them aware of the next thing that they might need then we are now bringing them along on the journey with us.
