I felt duped, controlled and manipulated. What the heck was I even doing here anyway?
About 5 years ago, I had hopped aboard a flight to attend an event that had been recommended to me as “one of the most impactful business events” with the promise that it would “change my life.”
At the time I was a straightforward business owner and knew what I was after.
Now, all of a sudden I found myself locked in a room with about 15 other people for a 3 day event, and I learned we were going to talk about feelings.
Feelings?
What. The. Hell.
I was here to work on my business! Not some woo woo bunch of crap. (My thoughts at the time)
I felt duped, controlled and manipulated. What the heck was I even doing here anyway?
After two solid days of straight up denial two things finally got through to me.
Everyone in the room was actually nice, and I could tell that. They all more or less told me how I was basically walking around in the world with a big ol’ F U sign, so on one felt like they could approach me or have a conversation with me.

The Importance of Online Storytelling
Successful branding has always been the heartbeat of entrepreneurship. It is the identity of your company. It helps tell potential customers what your business is about. And it establishes authenticity in marketing to help consumers to gain a stronger connection.
People want to buy from brands they can trust. Digital storytelling is the ultimate way to create genuine, crazy, raving fans that keep begging you to take their money. The concept of producing content that shares your brand message is in the formula of every successful online business.
An investment into a brand story can increase the chances of a consumer making a purchase. You and I both know it from personal experiences. After all, we all like to align ourselves with brands that we love. But why does that lead to more sales? It’s all to do with the magnetic law of attraction.
About the Magnetic Law of Attraction
Even after two decades in the industry, I’m always keen to learn about digital marketing and entrepreneurship. Given its importance, authenticity in marketing is unquestionably one of the most significant features. The magnetic law of attraction is something I’ve only recently discovered. But, like you, it’s actually something I’ve consciously and subconsciously know about all my life. I just hadn’t assigned a name to it.
It’s something I picked up from the latest annual Funnel Hacking Live event. The model works on the idea that you attract people because they want some of your positive energy for themselves. Essentially, when someone is attracted to your presence, it’s due to the fact that they want one to emulate one of your character traits.
While it is an idea that everyone can relate to in their personal lives, it’s crucial for digital marketing and online storytelling too!
In short, the law of attraction in business isn’t about your story. It’s about theirs. When a consumer feels that interactions with a brand will improve their lives, they won’t only magnetize to the brand. They’ll stick around too!
Using the Magnetic Law of Attraction
I discovered that the magnetic law of attraction all starts with a change of mind. If you want to be a better person, you have to train your mind to be a better person. It is that simple. Positive breeds positivity, and that’s something that will always bring success. Whether it’s social media marketing, your content strategy, or another aspect of attraction marketing.
My personal journey unearthed several key elements. Firstly, people were attracted to me because they were like minded. So, if you want your brand to succeed, defining a target audience is vital. It encourages brand authenticity and ensures the content marketing plan is tailored to the niche.
Secondly, the magnetic energy pull is as much about the consumer as it is about you. There is no need to force ideas that you think will generate sales. I have found that authenticity in marketing yields a greater response from other people. And once they actively want to be associated with a brand, they will find the brand’s value for themselves.
What Type of Digital Storytelling Works?
The concept of using the magnetic law of attraction works in personal lives and business. Online storytelling can occur on social media as part of a Facebook or Twitter marketing. Or it can incorporate video content, SEO content writing, and conversational marketing.
Whether using visual content or blogging strategy, the key is to create authenticity in marketing. I found in my personal journey that I surrounded myself with a circle of like minded people that became close friends. Consumers organically do this in relation to the brands they use. The magnetic law of attraction will help your brand stand out.
When you focus on brand authenticity, you will naturally find and attract your niche target audience. Moreover, it will create a clear path on how to strengthen the bond that the brand has over a customer. In turn, it brings increased loyalty to boost sales revenue and drive greater Customer Lifetime Values.
